Hiking from Sanorgue
La Bergerie is located between the Méouge canyon (a wildlife preserve) and the Jabron Valley. From the house, you can follow sheep trails used by the shepherds, through cool beech forests and lavender fields without ever crossing a road. The trails takes you up to the high plateau where you can see Mount Ventoux and the snow-capped summits of the Ecrins mountain range.
From one mountain pass to another, through pastures and deep valleys you will discover abandoned hamlets and the remains of an ancient priory. Plunge into natural basins fed by icy brooks where ammonite fossils made their bed. Alpine flowers line the panoramic ridge walk where migrating sheep graze. A veritable treasure of archaeological and historical heritage at your feet.
